PSTN Switch Off: Avoiding Germany’s mistakes

Germany’s Deutsche Telecom, (DTAG) kicked off the country’s migration from PSTN and ISDN to IP telephony in 2014. Broadly speaking it went off swimmingly but there were notable car crashes, especially within the pharmaceutical supply sector and customers migrating their fax machines.

The end is nigh for PSTN and ISDN in the UK

European telecoms providers, and that includes the UK, have announced by 2025 PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) will be no more. Nada. Finito. Shaken off this mortal copper coil.
