Now that the dust has settled following CyberUK 2017 in Liverpool last week, it’s safe to say that it has been our biggest and best event yet.
At the official launch of the NCSC a month ago there was a lot of talk about making the UK stronger though partnership, education and innovation. It’s been exciting to see each of those ideals begin to take shape at this event. It has reinforced my view that cyber security in the UK has the spirit, talent and determination needed to face the challenges that lie ahead.
From the inspirational keynotes and the thought-provoking talks on the spotlight stage, through to the individual sessions, it was terrific to hear that so much good work is being done to secure the UK’s digital presence.
Just seeing the exhibition hall busy with delegates from industry, government and academia, all exchanging ideas and building relationships, highlights how influential this event could prove to be. And of course, the Dragon’s Den provided a real example of products that can make a difference in the world of cyber security.
The resounding success of this year’s CyberUK was a genuine team effort by everyone who attended. So, to the 2,500 delegates, many generous sponsors, hundred-plus speakers, exhibitors and the tireless event staff, I’d like to say a very big ‘thank you’.
See you all at CyberUK 2018.
