In just five weeks (14 – 16 March), the UK’s information security community heads to Liverpool for a landmark conference hosted by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on behalf of HM Government.
CYBERUK 2017 will be attended by almost 2,000 delegates from across Government, Industry, Academia and the Critical National Infrastructure.
Staged five months following the launch of the National Cyber Security Strategy and the NCSC, this conference will explain the Government’s strategy for achieving a step change in UK cyber resilience.
CYBERUK 2017 is actually two events rolled into one.
It begins with CYBERUK Strategy (14 March), which will be the Government’s primary briefing for the leadership community. This event features a formidable speaker line up, headed by the Minister for the Cabinet Office.
From beginning to end, CYBERUK 2017 will reflect our commitment to be collaborative, to listen, to be open, to share insights and hear great ideas.
Lionel Barber, FT Editor, will facilitate a plenary debate, putting the audience’s questions directly to our keynote speakers.
This conference for the leadership community is followed by CYBERUK In Practice (15 – 16 March), our event for cyber security professionals at all levels.
Driven by NCSC Technical Directors, Jon L and Ian M, this award-winning event will be energetic and fun.
Jon and Ian are creating the kind of event they would like to attend themselves, with sessions and speakers ‘we can genuinely learn from’. They promise it will be inspiring, informative and above all memorable.
Alongside our content rich plenary and stream sessions, we’re preparing a series of entertaining technical challenges for delegates.
These tasks will be focused on two cafes at the event. There will be the sinister, glowering Mallory Café and Alice and Bob’s quintessential Tea Room. The thing is Mallory’s Café is struggling and jealously eyeing Alice and Bob’s thriving business. Mallory is turning to cyber to get at his arch rival. Delegates can log onto one of our PCs and join in!
This blog gives you just a glimpse of CYBERUK 2017, which will be packed with content. There will be over 100 speakers, 35 stream sessions, 12 workshops and 80 exhibitors. Also, a spotlight stage, featuring compelling lightning talks during lunchtime sessions and entertaining networking evenings.
Watch this blog spot in the weeks ahead, as my colleagues post their plans for CYBERUK 2017. Also, please look at our CyberUK 2017 webpage and follow us on Twitter @CYBERUKevents, remember to use the hashtag #CYBERUK17.
